Business Opportunities

A privileged geographical location

The island of Puerto Rico is located 1,258.94 miles from the equator. José AponteDe la Torre Airport is in the municipality of Ceiba on the eastern coast of the island. The geographic location and configuration of the airport as a commercial launch site offer a significant range of safe launch inclinations for launch vehicle types that take off and land horizontally. Its location provides also, an excellent geography for satellite constellation ground stations.

  • Coordinates:18 14’N – 65 38’W

Tip:

Horizontal launch aircraft utilize the airport runway. Once it reached 35,000 ft., the rocket ignites. Therefore, there is no rocket ignition over populated areas and no noise pollution.

  • Launch above the clouds. (35,000 ft.)
  • Payload assembly, integration, and testing facility.\Propellant and fueling facilities.

The airport already hosts aeronautical maintenance, repair, and overhaul companies.

Puerto Rico is a smart business move with a wide array of commercial advantages and one of the world's most competitive tax incentive programs.

The island has unmatched tax incentives that space companies cannot take advantage of anywhere else.

Under Act 60, space companies can receive tax decrees for advanced manufacturing, tax credits for 50% of their R&D costs, and extremely low (4%) corporate tax rates for export services such as remote sensing and earth imaging satellite constellation data processing.

Local investors or space investors that become Puerto Rican residents can enjoy a 0% income rate on dividends from space companies operating in Puerto Rico. These are just a few of the very compelling tax incentives only available in Puerto Rico.

Additionally, 98% of the island is an opportunity zone. If a space company in Puerto Rico is seeded with opportunity zone capital and grows to become a highly profitable business, the opportunity zone investors will never pay a capital gain if they hold it for ten years or more.
